With a big smile and lots of applause, the grandparents of the “Comedor María es mi Madre” received Mrs. Mireille de Cáceres, accompanied by her children and grandchildren, who live abroad and who took advantage of their vacation in Colombia to share the value of solidarity through a delicious lunch and a nice detail prepared by them, for each grandfather and grandmother who attend daily to this food kitchen.
Just as Matilde, the granddaughter who lives in Canada, dedicated herself to selling lemonade after school to raise funds for this important activity, Mireille’s five children follow in her footsteps, transmitting to their children such valuable teachings as sharing with those in need.
On this occasion the members of the Caceres family fulfilled their desire to serve and took a beautiful souvenir from the grandparents who dedicated beautiful poems, words and gestures of gratitude. They also visited the facilities of the “Centro de Vida” in Tocancipá, where they met the children who currently live there. The day began with enthusiasm, as everyone joined in a series of playful activities that fostered coexistence and joy. The children, along with family members, participated in a lively painting session and as a closing, in a deeply symbolic gesture, all members of the Caceres family placed a brick in the work in progress, the “Hogar Amparo Quin”.
Our greatest legacy for the new generations is to teach them to see the world with eyes of generosity, to open their hearts to help the most vulnerable and to be multipliers of good deeds is the path to a better future. We heartily thank the Caceres family for their visit and for being donor angels who with their solidarity are transforming the lives of our beneficiary children and grandparents.
