“With great joy and deep gratitude today we received 36 staff members from NBCUniversal. Their social impact initiative, «Comcast NBCUnites» demonstrates that when hands join, hearts get connected and dreams come true.
NBCUniversal, a well-known media and entertainment corporation that produces and distributes contents for television, movies, streaming and radio, made an extraordinary donation that will help us advance with our “Dream under construction”, the Amparo Quin Nursing Home. This solidarity gesture represents a giant step towards the consolidation of a space that will bring protection, love and hope to those who need it the most.
During the whole day, volunteers shared unforgettable moments by participating in pedagogic activities with our beneficiary children, youngsters and elderly. They also helped classify and organize our food and cleaning supplies warehouse, and went into the effort of washing the windows of the nursing home. This noble action is part of their “Care-Day” initiative: an annual program through which NBCUniversal identifies foundations that pursue transforming purposes where to participate as volunteers. In their fourth version, we feel deeply honored to have been chosen as the beneficiary organization of the year.
