“Thank you to this great team of volunteers, composed by 10 students and professionals from the School of Medicine of Universidad de Los Andes, who dedicated their morning today to having a care and service day, aimed at the elderly street dwellers, beneficiaries of Comedor María es mi Madre (Mary is my Mother Dining Hall).
Dr. Carlos Ignacio ORJUELA, our professional psychiatry volunteer leads and inspires this group of youngsters who had the opportunity to learn, first hand, about this reality. Additionally, full of generosity, they brough groceries as donation, served breakfast and patiently and warmly cared for each one of the consultations by the elderly people who came in today to the Dining Hall.
The volunteers lived moments of joy and satisfaction. Through their professional knowledge and human quality they brought back hope and brightened the day of these elderly street dwellers.”
